Bangladesh’s exports of sanitary ware, ceramics and other products increased by 4.91% in fiscal year 2023

According to data from the Bangladesh Export Promotion Agency, exports of ceramic products (tiles, tableware, and sanitary ware) increased by 4.91% year-on-year in 2022-2023;
Exports will grow by 32.95% in 2021-2022 and 11.23% in 2020-2021.

Manufacturers are unable to keep their factories running at full capacity due to insufficient supply of natural gas, which is the main reason why the industry did not achieve the expected export growth in fiscal 2023.Irfan Uddin, Secretary General of Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association express.

The government stopped buying LNG directly from the international spot market last year to prevent foreign exchange reserves from depleting, resulting in a chronic shortage of domestic production, a sharp drop in energy supplies, and a natural gas crisis that rippled through the industry.

‘Spa-inspired bathroomsbecome hot home trend
