Haufinyane tjena, Indonesia Ceramic Association (Asaki) asked the government to immediately release a policy to strengthen and protect the country’s ceramic industry, especially with regard to imported ceramics.
According to data compiled by Asaki, Pherekhong 2020 – August imports of Indonesian ceramic products fell only 7% selemo le selemo, ho tloha $ 173 milione ho $ 159 milione. The association also asked the country’s Ministry of Industry to tighten the submission of Indonesian SNI import certifications and proposed minimum import price regulations made for products from Vietnam, Philippines, India and Vietnam. Benefiting from policy measures targeting the ceramic industry, namely the gas price stimulus of US$6 per MMBTU implemented on April 13, 2020, the measure can provide significant value to improve the competitiveness of the ceramic industry. According to Indonesia’s Central Statistical Agency (BPS), ceramic exports increased 24% year-on-year from US$36.2 million to US$44.9 million in January-August 2020.
