According to the “China Plumbing and Sanitary Industry Foreign Trade Development Report 2020” released by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Minerals and Chemicals, China is the number one exporter of Global Export Market and Germany is the second-largest exporter of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment in the world.

Porcelain fixed sanitary equipment refers to porcelain utensils for sanitary and clean washing, including porcelain sinks, washbasins, basin seats, bathtubs, bidets, flush toilets, water tanks, urinals, and similar fixed sanitary equipment.

China’s Share Of The Global Export Market For Porcelain Fixed Sanitary Equipment Is Approximately 85%

China’s exports of ceramic fixed sanitary equipment are dominated by porcelain fixed sanitary equipment. In 2020, China’s exports of fixed sanitary equipment made of ceramic amounted to USD 8.76 billion, of which exports of fixed sanitary equipment made of ceramic amounted to USD 0.04 billion, accounting for 0.5%. Exports of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment amount to USD 8.71 billion, accounting for 99.5%, or nearly 100%.

In 2020, China’s exports of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment amounted to 1.67 million tonnes, a decrease of 3.1%. The value of exports was US$8.71 billion, an increase of 12.4%. Its average unit price was US$5.2/kg, an increase of 15.9%. China’s exports of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment fell sharply in February 2020 due to the epidemic. It exported 38,000 tonnes, down 74.0% from January. The value was US$100 million, down 78.5% from January. This was followed by a month-on-month increase, with the volume of exports reaching a peak in November 2020.

Germany is the second-largest exporter of porcelain sanitary equipment. Their exports are much lower than China’s, with an export value of less than one-twentieth of China’s. In 2020, Germany’s exports of porcelain sanitary equipment amounted to 70,000 tonnes, an increase of 6.2%. Their exports amount to USD 390 million, an increase of 8.1%. The average unit price of exports is 5.9 USD/kg, an increase of 1.8%.

In 2020, the main markets for German exports of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment are the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, France, the UK, and Belgium, with significant growth in exports to Switzerland and France.

The value of exports was $59.26 million, a decrease of 6.0 percent, or 15.2 percent. The average unit price of exports was US$5.8/kg, an increase of 2.2%. Their exports to Switzerland were 3,163 tonnes, an increase of 10.9%. The value of their exports was US$48.02 million, an increase of 26.7%, or 12.3%. The average unit price of their exports was US$15.2/kg, an increase of 14.3%. German exports to Austria amounted to 5,072 tonnes, a decrease of 13.7%. The value of exports was US$32.97 million, an increase of 0.8%, or 8.4%. The average unit price of their exports was US$6.50/kg, an increase of 16.7%. German exports to France amounted to 7,643 tonnes, an increase of 111.8%. The value of their exports was US$32.08 million, an increase of 100.7%, or 8.2%. The average unit price of exports was US$4.2/kg, a decrease of 5.2%. German exports to the UK were 4,638 tonnes, an increase of 6.7%. The value of exports was US$27.02 million, a decrease of 3.1% and a 6.9% share. The average unit price of exports was US$5.8/kg, a decrease of 9.2%. German exports to Belgium were 4,252 tonnes, a decrease of 1.1%. The value of exports was US$23.89 million, an increase of 0.02%, or 6.1%. The average unit price of exports was US$5.6/kg, an increase of 1.2%.

In 2020, Portuguese exports of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment amounted to 60,000 tons, a decrease of 19.3%. The value of exports was US$ 110 million, a decrease of 12.8%. The average unit price of exports was US$ 1.9/kg, an increase of 8.0%. India’s exports of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment were 150,000 tonnes, a decrease of 12.6 percent. The value of exports was US$110 million, a decrease of 7.0%. The average unit price of exports was US$0.7/kg, an increase of 6.4%. Exports of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment from the Czech Republic decreased by 12.3% to 30,000 tonnes. The value of exports was USD 0.9 billion, a decrease of 10.8%. The average unit price of their exports was US$3.2/kg, an increase of 1.8%.
